My horse is perfect except when...

Whatever the exception is, the Parelli Natural Horsemanship program can help you solve your horse behaviour problems. Our method of dealing with horses, starts with the premise that there is no such thing as a "bad" horse, and that "bad" horse behaviour can always be understood and corrected naturally, if we can just see things from the horse's point of view.

Todd Owens ~ Love Language and Leadership
Natural horsemanship is flexible horsemanship. Rather than rigid rules, we seek to understand each individual horse and what works for him or her. Flexibility and fluidity is natural horse training at its best.

We learn to work and play with horses in a way that doesn't use force and punishment. Natural horsemanship helps us understand the reason behind the problem. Keeping in mind that a problem horse is nothing more than a horse that feels unsafe and untrusting, we patiently teach our horses that it is safe to be with us. The Parelli Method offers us relationship–based horse training that leverages your horse's trust in us and his basic personality to gently correct his actions.

As licensed Parelli Professionals we offer:
Natural Solutions to Horse Problems on the Ground – How to Catch a Horse – Herd Bound Horses – Aggressive Horse – Horse Kicking – Biting Horse – Lazy Horse – Horse Pulling Back– Horse Trailering – How to Wash a Horse – Horse Refuses to Stand Still– Natural Solutions to Horse Problems in the Saddle – How To Mount a Horse – Bolting Horse – Cinchy Horse – Horses Crossing Water –Horse Riding – Fear Of Riding Horses– Horse Bucking – Horse Riding Lessons – Head Tossing– Horse Eating Grass – Horse Balking – Skittish Horse – Lazy Horses – Horses Rearing.

Let's take a closer look at one of these problems and the key to success with a lazy horse:
The natural approach is to understand that the key to a successful partnership with this horse is mental, not physical. Traditional horse training usually involves using more physical pressure (kicking, spurs and whips). Physical pressure will only result in more resentment and defiance. To become your horse's trusted leader and partner, you need to apply brain power, not physical power to shift the horse's behaviour pattern. For a lazy horse, rewards for desirable behaviour are the key to success. This horse wants to know what's in it for him! If you have a general rule about never giving a horse cookies, scratches or rest stops you might want to re–think that in this case. Remember to use treats as a reward not a bribe.

Even the most hardcore problem horse cases yield to the Parelli Natural Horsemanship approach using understanding, love, language and leadership to correct problematic horse behaviour.
